Process Historian
MOPS Historian is a process database that acts as a central repository for both current and historical process data. This data is obtained directly from automated process control systems, and may also be entered into the database from sources such as log sheet entries, and quality and environmental lab testing. Using MOPS Historian, operators, line supervisors, and managers (as well as other computer systems and software applications) are provided timely information on every part of the production process. MOPS Historian can also be easily configured to accept and report on data from manufacturing systems and business systems.
MOPS Historian provides short- and long-term information storage, and the ability to retrieve data in the form of trend curves, graphic overviews and statistical analysis. MOPS Historian is built on a distributed database that provides history (e.g. data, text, video, multimedia) with timestamps, security down to the tag level, high speed access, and distributed storage along the time dimension. As part of the MIW (Manufacturing Information Warehouse) architecture in the mill it provides the ability to store and buffer data collected from control systems, lab equipment, manufacturing execution systems (MES) and enterprise resource planning systems (ERP).
